The festival returns for its 12th year with a program of 40+ shows across the city. Geometric sound waves — dense, violent, then thinning into a single line — trace the journey of music from the ancient Yungang Grottoes to the modern venues. The mark YCMF 12TH stands in heavy capitals, letterforms divided into blocks of high-saturation colour: blue, orange-red, yellow and green.
